Welcome!

Welcome to the Simple English Wikibooks!

We hope you are happy editing here. Some helpful pages to start you off are Wikibooks:Community Portal and Help:Contents.

If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit the Simple English Wikibooks Simple talk. Just remember that you should sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words. It is a good idea to look at the rules before you make many changes.

Better late than never, I always say. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or other active users. I'm not very active here, but I'll try to keep an eye out, and you can always email me using the email user function on my user page. Happy editing! --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 17:03, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have made a proposal here regarding this wiki. ~ Wikihermit 04:47, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have move my requested for bureaucrat rights back to adminship. ~ Wikihermit 22:58, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, what do you think we should do with Wikibooks:Rules? Should we move rules over into policies? ~ Wikihermit 23:03, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Looks like PxMa already took care of it. --Ezra Katz 03:27, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Disappearing Page

I fixed it. You can find the page at Numbers/Content/What Are Numbers?. ~ Wikihermit 04:13, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Misc

Hi. Please respond to my comments on Wikibooks:Administrators. I'll get on that issue with the "article" name as soon as I can (should be today). I don't think Pxma can change it (since only admins can modify the system messages), but maybe he/she's a steward, I don't know. If he/she is, he/she may get to it before I do. --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 21:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

ROBBOALERT

I am a robot. I therefore don't can take orders from anyone else than he who programmed me. I am a robot. I therefore do not may take critics. BLIP!! I am a robot. I therefore suggest you to get you a job instead of this mess that wikibooks are. BLIP! BROPP! --Thjis!bot 21:13, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why don't you blocked me right away if you don't accepted my changes? I am a robot but i still understand that my edits was pure vandalism and that this is a VOA. Checked yo IQ recently?

Blocked! --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 00:26, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Admin status

Hi Ezra. I'm glad to hear that you want to stay. Thank you for sending me an email, since I've been super busy with work.

I actually tried to change my vote on the admin page but I had trouble posting and then I didn't have time. I am in favor of your admin request assuming you want to stay, as I think I mentioned on Simple talk. Since you want to stay, I'm in favor. In fact, I'm requesting it on meta right away.

I agree that all pages should be in simple English, though I would place more priority on the content pages at the beginning, since we are bound to have more SE readers than SE editors.

You being an advocate has a valid connection to your admin status. It is true that you can advocate without admin status, but admin status is bound to give your words more weight especially considering that Wikimedia wikis have lots of the traits of a meritocracy. As far as I know, creating namespaces is the exclusive realm of the developers (like Brion Vibber).

Thank you for your directness in writing to me, using plain speech and well-formulated appeals to reason. I'm happy to tell you that you're preaching to the choir (I'm already on your side, though that was not yet clear on-wiki), but I appreciate hearing more about your plans and ideas. Again, I apologize for not having acted more quickly.

I think together we can make this wiki great! --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 17:09, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

We monitor simple in IRC, and stewards are usually at-hand. Do you mind importing our vandalism templates (and simplifying the language if you like)? I always have to go searching for your templates because they're not named the same, which does slow me down :) – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Categories

Hi. I'm fairly new here, and I was wondering what the requirements were for creating a new category. On the English WIkipedia, there have to be a certain number of articles. Does that same rule apply here? Thanks, --CookyStartsWithC T 00:06, 7 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Protect please

Would you please protect Template:Welcome to the SandBox! and Template:Please leave this line alone (sandbox heading) so I don't have to worry about the sandbot fuxing things up due to vandalism on those templates? Thanks. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 21:34, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

World History

Done! --Ezra Katz 01:42, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
